Memory :
Memory SIMMs SIMM memory modules come in either 30 pin or
72 pin variety. When older 30 pin SIMMs are used, they need to be
used in matched pairs or in matched sets of four. When 72 pin SIMMs
are used in a Pentium or faster computer, they need to be installed
in matched pairs. Not all mainboards support large capacity SIMMs
(64MB, etc.). Check with mainboard manufacturer's documentation or
website for the type and maximum capacity, per slot, of SIMM for your
board. If we did not sell the motherboard and there is a typographical
error in the motherboard manufacturer's manual (saying it takes 64s
and it does not...it happens!), we can not guarantee the compatibility
of these SIMMs. SDRAM DIMMs DIMM memory modules require a 168 pin
socket to plug into. Sometimes, a board has both SIMM and DIMM slots.
Rarely will a mainboard accept both SIMMs AND DIMMs simultaneously.
More often than not, the SIMMs, if present, will need to be removed
in favor of using the DIMMs. Before ordering your DIMMs, check to
see if your motherboard has an Intel VX chipset. We have found that
our DIMMs will not work properly in motherboards with VX chipsets.
Check mainboard manufacturer's documentation or website for compatibility.
SDRAM PC100 DIMMs PC100 DIMMs are DIMMs that utilize a board's 100
MHz bus. In most cases, a mainboard that is running a CPU with a 100
MHz bus, will require PC100 DIMMs.
